Window Boxes

Window Boxes may not be exactly as old as the hills, but they can certainly be dated back to Roman times, in the first century BC.

Ancient Romans adorned their Window Boxes with medicinal herbs, herbs and plants for cooking, and flowers of every kind, kept both for decoration and for ritual purposes.

Today, the traditional Roman terracotta Window Boxes have been replaced with Window Boxes of every kind – wire hay, wrought iron (particularly popular in Italy and France), and of course the ubiquitous plastic.

In fact, today’s Window Boxes even come flat-packed – made from recycled and cast aluminium, which look just as elegant as their earlier wrought iron counterparts.
